The chif, Odd Henry Dahle, is responsible for studies and cases that are presented to those democratically elected, and ensures that decisions are taken. Municipal Act gives the chief administrative officer responsible for the administration operated in accordance with laws, regulations, and supervisor's instructions.
Deputy chief Stål A. Alfredsen is the deputy. Chief officer group also consists of the two directors Tore Haaland and Sissel Hynne.
The municipality is organized following a two-level model. The units are directly under the chief officer group, and each leader has wide rights in there own unit.
The municipality's three support units are Finance, Human resources and organization and ICT. They are reporting directly to the chief, while each of the 41 segment reporting either to the assistant chief officer or one of the directors.
